By prioritizing accessibility, inclusivity, and community engagement, this Art Showcase will reflect IPP’s commitment to dignity, transformation, and collective liberation.

The Illinois Prison Project’s Associate Board presents Voices of Freedom: An IPP Art Showcase. This event is a Juneteenth-inspired, family-friendly community event that centers the creativity, resilience, and lived experiences of individuals impacted by the criminal legal system. Through visual art, spoken word, and other expressive mediums, we intend to provide attendees the opportunity to engage with powerful storytelling while supporting the Illinois Prison Project’s ongoing advocacy and litigation efforts. In addition to the art showcase, the program will include a brief educational component highlighting IPP’s work and the broader connection between creative expression and justice reform.

Your ticket includes access and admission to the event including a reception and mingling in the BLK room space, light refreshments, and access to view a collection of artworks by formerly incarcerated leaders Renaldo Hudson and Vincent Boggan, as well and other Chicago-based artists.

**Limited discounted tickets are available and reserved for individuals who need them. Please contact board Co-Presidents, Jessica Daniels and Rhonda Ekwunoh for assistance with this (jessica@illinoisprisonproject.org, rhondaekwunoh@gmail.com)**

Doors will open at 1 pm, with programming from 1:20 to 3:00 pm.

About IPP
In six years, IPP has freed 198 people from prison, successfully advocated for a new law in Illinois that allows for medical release and administrative policy changes that create more pathways for release from prison, and educated tens of thousands of community members about the harms of our racist and regressive criminal legal system. Through creative lawyering, innovative advocacy and a focus on the humanity of people harmed by the criminal legal system, IPP's work is transforming the way that Illinois treats incarcerated people.

The Illinois Prison Project Associate Board's mission is to build support for the organization through volunteering, fundraising, and spreading the word about IPP’s work and mission to end mass incarceration. The Associate Board exists to introduce IPP to a wider audience of advocates, activists, volunteers, and donors interested in actively advancing our organization and mission.
