March Lunch & Learn - The Urgency of Care: Medical Release in Crisis

Join us for a discussion rooted in compassion, justice, and hope. Too many people are suffering behind bars, denied the dignity of proper medical care and the chance to spend their final days with family. But together, we can change that. In this discussion with scholar, activist, and former IPP client, Janet Jackson, we will shine a light on the urgent need for medical release and the humanity of those affected. We will also review the IPP Joe Coleman toolkit with staff social worker, Jessie Schrantz LSCW, to provide advice for anyone currently drafting a medical release petition. This is not just a fight against cruelty—it is a call to embrace kindness, to lift one another up, and to build a future where no one is forgotten.
