Help us bring home more women and survivors of gender-based violence

At least three-quarters of women in Illinois prisons have survived domestic abuse and nearly all have experienced some form of gender-based violence. IPP's Women & Survivors Project is a unique effort to push back against the criminalization of women and survivors of gender-based violence. Through direct representation and systemic advocacy, our program works to free incarcerated survivors who have acted in defense of themselves or their children, were forced or coerced to participate in crimes committed by abusive partners, or whose convictions are otherwise connected to issues that disproportionately impact women such as postpartum depression.

Your gift will help the Women & Survivors Project work together with our incarcerated clients to fight for their freedom through post-conviction, resentencing, clemency, parole, and compassionate release cases.
